This is important, because an unplanned visit to the hospital can sometimes be very expensive. Europe Assistance (correctly: Europ Assistance) offers coverage for medical expenses in the event of a sudden illness or accident. Standard coverage includes outpatient consultations and treatment, hospitalization, purchase of medicines and bandages, and medical transportation. Emergency dental care, medical repatriation and transport of the deceased are also available. In Schengen variants, typical limits are \u20ac30,000 or \u20ac60,000, while in policies for foreigners residing in Poland, limits can be selected, usually from \u20ac10,000 to \u20ac50,000.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

The insurer covers reasonable and necessary medical expenses up to the sum insured. This is the upper limit of liability. Important: many benefits require prior approval of the Emergency Center and organization of assistance by the insurer. Incurring the expense yourself without contact may result in denial of reimbursement. Before choosing a policy, check whether the variant covers chronic diseases, as this is often a separate limit or extension.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Assistance provides 24-hour contact, treatment arrangements, medical translation and logistical support. If necessary, the company will arrange transportation to a facility, repatriation to the country of permanent residence or continuation of travel after treatment. No insurance covers all medical expenses. You'll find exclusions of liability in Europ Assistance's T&Cs. The most common are planned treatment and procedures, prophylaxis, rehabilitation, treatment in sanatoriums, dental prosthetics, costs after alcohol consumption or high-risk sports without extension.
